Kanji:       瓜肌楓

Romaji:      Urihadakaede

Genus & species:    Acer rufinerve

Family & subfamily:Sapindaceae (Maple)

Notes:    Another name is ‘Snake bark maple’ but the bark looks just like melon skin as the Japanese name says, so I preferred to translate it directly. Green flowers.

Specimen at Takayama: Right-rear of the chapel, between the toilet and the path. This is the only specimen I know.
